inSide919 Members Contribute to a Social Media Directory
I'm excited to share with you that over 14 people from inSide919.com contributed to a new Social Media Directory conceived of and produced my Martin Brossman. Martin's the quintessential networker. As one person said, he probably started networking at the hospital after birth! He does it with good will towards all and an eye for inclusion and collaboration.
On Thursday, August 20th, at New World Coffee House in Raleigh, we're celebrating the launch of the book with a TweetUp, live music, a short talk and door prizes. It's not everyday I'm involved in a book, so it's fun. Kind of like having a birthday.
I'm sharing this with you in part because it is a resource that may be of interest. Even as someone who did a lot of research for the directory, and someone who is online often more than 8 hours a day, I've been pleasantly surprised to find that a paperback directory of online social media is not as strange as some might seem.
Paper can be shown to people in places where there are no computers.
Paper can handle your notes better than a computer screen.
Paper can be folded to quickly flip to an important page.
Paper can be kept in a bag or briefcase for easy reading whenever.
Already there've been a dozen times in the past couple months when having a proof copy has been handy, both for me to help others locate good resources online, and for me to remember resources that I researched. (Not all of us have photographic memories, I'm lucky to have memory at all!)
